Blurt Board

Privacy Policy

Blurt collects nothing about you. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no servers. This page explains what that means in detail.

Last updated 20 September 2026

The short version. Blurt has no network code in it. It cannot send your data anywhere, because it never connects to anything. There is no analytics package, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier and no third-party SDK of any kind.

What stays on your device

Everything you put into Blurt stays on your device unless you turn on iCloud Drive yourself:

The microphone

Blurt asks for microphone access only so you can record a sound onto a pad. Recording happens entirely on your device, and a recording is only kept if you choose to save it. Nothing is transmitted, and nothing listens in the background — the microphone is active only while you are recording.

You can revoke access at any time in Settings, and every other part of the app keeps working.

iCloud Drive

Blurt can store your library in iCloud Drive so it appears on your other devices. This is off by default and you turn it on in Settings.

When it is on, your sounds and boards are stored in your own iCloud account, under your Apple Account, governed by Apple's privacy policy. They are not sent to the developer and the developer has no access to them, no visibility into them, and no ability to retrieve them. There is no server on the other end — the only parties are you and Apple.

Apple Watch

If you send sounds to the Apple Watch app, they are transferred directly between your own devices using Apple's device-to-device connection. Nothing passes through a third party.

Tips

Blurt is free and nothing in it is locked. If you choose to leave a tip, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. The developer never sees your payment details — only anonymous, aggregate sales figures that Apple reports, which cannot identify you.

Tips unlock nothing, so there is nothing to restore and nothing that depends on knowing who you are.

Children

Blurt is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data requests

Requests to access, correct, export or delete personal data are usually answered by describing what is held. In Blurt's case the answer is that none is held, so there is nothing to produce or erase.

Your own content is in your hands: delete the app and its local library goes with it. If you turned on iCloud Drive, the files are in your iCloud account, where you can view or remove them through the Files app.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. Because the app has no way to collect data, any change would have to come with a change to the app itself, and would be described in its release notes.
